Our environment impacts our health.
WHEN is a non-profit charitable organization that educates the public and policy makers about environmental health as a key determinant of public health, and advocates for the prevention of environmental health harms.
We have been a trusted source of credible tools and information on emerging environmental health topics since 1994.
We teach individuals and communities how to reduce their risk of illness and injury that can occur from the products we use, the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe
We engage in law reform to better protect vulnerable populations from environmental health harms and to relieve the burden of precautionary consumption from individuals
We leverage women and gender diverse people as catalysts for environmental and social change
WHEN advocates for all women, trans, cis, and AFAB (Assigned Female at Birth) individuals. Environmental health harms affect the body differently depending on sex, gender, and other identity factors. We all deserve healthy environments.
On June 28th, WHEN hosted its 30th anniversary gala at the World Urban Pavilion in Regent Park. Together, we reflected on where we have been and where we are going in the environmental justice movement; honoured the women who led us here and championed for change over the last 30 years; and inspired future generations with actionables delivered by experienced leaders.
